While our first day on the greens is still some weeks away, preparations of every type continues. On March 20 a small group of members were inside Carnarvon House working on details for our first open house March 25. While this open house is expected to be largely an indoor affair, we hope to have a couple of rinks available for visitors who would like to roll a few bowls.
To make it possible to roll some bowls, greenskeeper John Correia has been hard at work. John first had to deal with a nasty outbreak of snow mould, which was the subject of a Times Colonist newspaper article in 2009. While John was working on the greens, Georgia Thorneycroft was bringing our showcase garden just inside the green-arch entrance back to life.
Tick tock, tick tock….. can we just speed up the calendar? 🙂
