On Monday August 22nd we had the pleasure of welcoming a large group of bowlers from Central Saanich Lawn Bowling Club.
The format of play was 2 x 8 end games of triples with teams made up from both clubs. Lunch followed the first game. A spider then took place. While only one person could win the spider, everyone happily managed to recover their bowl. Next came the second game followed by the award of prizes. The winning team received a bottle of liquid refreshment each, while the rest of us had to cross our fingers in hope of winning a draw prize.
The weather made it a great day to be outdoors and bowling. It was also an excellent opportunity to make new friends. It has been a pleasure to host these folks and we look forward to continuing such get-togethers.
Special appreciation is owed to Karen Evans who managed a team of helpers too numerous to name individually without the risk of omitting someone. These often behind the scenes “gremlins” are what make an event like this a success. It has been a day that will leave us with many happy memories. Thank you!
