Returning OBLBC member, Jaymee Sidel made her debut appearance today as a Bowls BC umpire under the watchful eye of mentoring umpire Anne Mathie during the Yarrow Cup (men’s pairs) held at Canadian Pacific LBC this weekend.
The duo were called upon numerous times to determine shot bowl with the use of calipers and spanners; jack length; on the rink line bowl with a string measure and right angle level as well as overseeing that conditions of play were adhered to.
Bowlers be on the look out for this new ‘Ump’ at a green near you!
