I am pleased to announce that Garry Anderson has come forward and volunteered to take on the responsibility for the kitchen. Garry will coordinate the kitchen volunteers to ensure we have this area covered off. He has been an Executive member, sits on the Website Committee, looks after our website calendar, has been involved with training drawmasters, participated in the verges group and is always the first to help out when the benches need moving and when we do our yearly clean-up. He not only does this but in partnership with Andrew Harley looks after our short mat program. Thanks for your commitment to the club Garry. People don’t know how much you give back to the club through your volunteer work but all of the members benefit from your actions and it is appreciated. We are seeing members starting to step forward. Diane and Ian McMorran are running the Special Draw on Thursdays and they have volunteered to manage a few of the Friday evening draws. Diane helps with our garden and she is always asking if she can help out with club events and tournaments. Ian helps with building and ground maintenance and rolls our green throughout the bowling season. All of these things help immensely in keeping our club healthy and active. There are other members that provide a huge amount of time to make our club what it is today. Over the coming weeks I’ll try to highlight these members to show you who is helping keep things rolling along for all of us. With that in mind I ask that members make the effort to come forward and help out in any way they can, it’s just something you can help out with for an hour or two once or twice a month. Thanks to all those who volunteer, it really does make a difference and it does help our club. If you can volunteer a small portion of your time please contact Pat Thomas, Cathy Denny or Mary Magill who can help steer you towards areas that you feel comfortable in volunteering your time.
